Teddington Midwives was set up in 2011 by Wendy Burman and Louise Nunn, experienced practising midwives, who both live in Teddington.
We have almost 40 years midwifery experience (which makes us sound very old!) and 6 children between us (who make us feel very old at times!) and we both have in-depth knowledge and experience of the local maternity services. We are uniquely placed to be able to provide in-depth, research-based and realistic information, at the same time as promoting and supporting normality in a supportive non-biased way.
We are both registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), and members of the Royal College of Midwives (RCM), and keep ourselves professionally updated.

Wendy Burman, RGN, RM I qualified as a midwife in Newcastle in 1989, and have been helping babies into the world ever since. I have worked in numerous hospitals, and have been working at a local hospital for the past 11 years. As a community team midwife, I work in all areas of the maternity service, and particularly enjoy supporting women giving birth at home. I am married to Rob, and have 4 children (3 homebirths and a waterbirth), and a lively dog. On the rare spare moment I have, I enjoy designing and making jewellery. |

Louise Nunn RGN, RM, BSc (Hons) I qualified as a midwife in 1994, and since then have worked in both the hospital and community settings, including 5 years managing a maternity unit, and 3 years as a practice development midwife. I currently work part-time on a supply basis at a local maternity unit. I am married to Craig, and have 2 sons (hospital birth, and a homebirth). I am also a qualified image consultant and run my own consultancy business as well as enjoying being a midwife. |
